Anxiety Treatment vs. Anxiety Cure
If you are suffering from anxiety, you most likely have been treated for anxiety. You have also most likely not been cured of anxiety. There is a very simple reason for this. When someone is diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, it is natural to take some of the blame on your self. You feel like you should be able to fix it your self. This is futile and self defeating. You wouldn’t feel that way if you were diagnosed with cancer yet when it is a problem of the mind, you somehow feel differently. The treatments for anxiety can range from psychotherapy and drugs to meditation and exercise. While all of these have their place, they all have the common similarity of focusing on the symptoms of anxiety.
In order to effect a lifelong cure, you need to focus on the cause of anxiety. What is the cause? There are many theories as to the causes. Most of them refer to the subconscious mind and the development of a constant fight or flight anxiety. This anxiety builds on itself to create more fear then more anxiety which in many instances leads to panic attacks. The symptoms themselves begin to cause the anxiety. The cure is to effect a change at the root of the problem.
What you need to do is create a sense of safety in your subconscious instead of a sense of danger. That is the reprogramming that I mentioned earlier. Once your subconscious believes there is no longer a need for elevated awareness and increased adrenalin, you will very quickly relax. This reprogramming is not something you can do yourself. It also cannot be done using the most common methods mentioned earlier.
